A poem from the grief portal & upcoming events
Hi dear ones,
I am still moving slowly so this is a short one from me. I got back into work mode this week, catching up with things after being with family, grief and funeral logistics for the last couple of weeks. Thank you for all the warm words, care, support and beloveds checking in. I feel held. I wish this for all grievers.
I am still solidifying my Substack plans and I’ll let you know when this is clear. I am blessed to be (finally) starting to work with an access support person next week to help my neurospicy body-mind, so I feel confident that we’ll get a plan together soon.
Lots of events are in the works so please scroll to the end of this if you would like to come to any of my offerings. I’ll be in Berlin for a good chunk of this month and I’ll also have some events in the UK in October.
If you have the means, please send some money (no amount too small) for Rewaa and her family in Gaza.
Sending warmth in this time of unraveling x
***
My grief is like a water fountain
Switching on and off
Water rushing to the surface
When the cosmic button is pushed
My grief is a kayak
Occasionally capsizing
On an otherwise smooth lake
My grief is dream-like
Spaced out
Saturated in colour
The world, so beautifully impermanent.
Relief is woven in; toxic bonds broken
Tiredness takes me when she desires.
Beyond condolences
The expectation is
Produce.
Work.
Be useful…
I do my best to meander
Along the cracks
Rest
Embrace loved ones
Connection all the more precious.
I feel the weight of the dead
How some are honoured and remembered
Necropolitics and respectability has crept in
Will there be a time
When we share a holistic view?
To embrace the love and pain of entanglement?
These questions linger
As we face the mountain
It’s easy to forget
Death involves so much admin.
